“I’ve always been big since 12/13 year old.
I’ve struggled with weight and food. It’s been a demon; it’s been a comfort; it’s been there all through my life.
I’ve dieted all my life, on and off a typical yoyo dieter! I’ve lost weight before and piled it all back on again and more.
A couple of years before I got to my heaviest (2008) I’d had a lot of stress in my life and was semi caring for my best friend with Cancer, so I didn’t really look after myself. During this period, food was a huge comfort tool!
BUT I was struggling. I was old before my time, shuffling about, my knees and hips were suffering.
I was watching my best friend die and I didn’t want to end up in a wheelchair and need help, I needed somebody to look after me!
I joined a slimming club and weighed in at 20st 7lbs … it took me 2 years to lose 5 stones.
Then something switched off in my head and I lost the plot and piled 2.5 stones back ON!!!!!
See told you my weight loss took a long time & was a yo-yoer LOL!
I started again the beginning of last year at 18st 1lb. I joined The Superwoman Project in June this year.
I had managed then to drop to 13st 6.5lbs, but I had reached a plateau and I was looking for a bit more support and encouragement.
I didn’t want to go back to my old yo-yoing ways and I wasn’t ready to put that weight back on.
I now weigh 12st 6lbs and I have dropped a further dress size!
You see, The Superwoman Project isn’t just about ‘dieting’. In fact, it’s not about being on a diet, it’s about eating well.
I have learnt so much about what foods I should be eating and I get much more pleasure out of cooking and nourishing my body & loving myself.
So I know this time is different ….
I mean business I want to get to a healthy weight and then stay there. So with help from Hanni & Leon and the lovely team of Superwomen I will do it!
I can honestly say the biggest change in me is my mindset. I don’t feel as though I am on a diet or some kind of quick fix.
I will never go back to where I was before.
I have just this weekend celebrated not only my 60th birthday, at a slightly lighter weight than I was when I left school, but also having bought myself a pair of non-stretch, size 16 jeans – the smallest I have ever been able to fit in!”
